jennifer + whitney

last week i promised a “part two” to the jennifer peña shoot and here it is! jennifer’s best friend and college roommate, whitney, came along and we did a mini shoot of the two besties. they share a blog titled “conquering the quarter life crisis”, where they tell about marking activities off of their bucket lists and share stories of life, love and art. these two have so much personality! just incase their current jobs/future prospectives don’t work out, jennifer + whitney have a plan b: open a jam stand and sell fresh homemade jams, jellies and the like, on the side of the road- hence, the theme of the entire photo shoot! wesley and i are also excited to be a part of a project within the birmingham art community that whitney is putting together! we can’t wait to begin working on our submissions! enjoy!

aren’t they just adorable?

jennifer peña

i really fell in love with this shoot the second jennifer and i met up at the location. everything from the freshly bloomed field to jennifer’s sweet disposition to all of her fun props and accessories- we had so much fun spending the afternoon literally frolicking through this field. we even saw a few cottontails hoping through the tall flowers behind us. these are jennifer’s senior portraits. no, she didn’t just graduate from high school. her and i are the same age. personally, i think it’s a great time in life to have portraits made because, as i know very well, this time of life feels a bit odd… you’re out of college (which in and of itself is hard to believe!) you may have a job or you may not, supporting yourself for the first time (unless you paid your way through school- major props to all the folks out there who’ve been doing this whole responsibility this for a long time!) i thought it was so cute and creative of jen to bring trinkets from her childhood to the shoot. she also brought some of her science books because she is super smart and likes to show off;). to say the least, jennifer is a beauty with brains and i wish her all the best with her job search and future plans! (sorry, boys, she’s taken!)

[this was one of my favorite shoots to date- i sure hope you like it as much as i do!]

and be on the lookout for part numero dos from this shoot soon!

gorgeous emma!

alexandra tate

alexandra is a vocal performance major at samford university. she has her senior recital coming up and wanted a few images of herself to send along with her recital announcements and for the submission of resumes in the future. although, she won’t need to be submitting any resumes any time soon, as she is already accepted to and plans on attending NYU in the fall! alexandra is super comfortable in front of the camera which made it quite easy for us to do our job. she is definitely a go-getter who is not afraid of taking chances. hopefully, we’ll be seeing her on broadway sooner rather than later!

jen + faisal: the wedding

jen and faisal exchanged their vows on the grounds of a stunning plantation in montgomery, al. the wedding ceremony and reception were low-key and intimate. it was a sweet time for family and friends, many of whom did not previously know faisal, to connect with the two as a couple. we enjoyed every second of documenting their outdoor nuptials! we wish for nothing but blessings for jen + faisal as they settle into wedded bliss back in california!
