destiny & dan | a laid-back texas wedding | broken arrow ranch

The gorgeous, yet laid-back, ranch wedding was truly a family affair. Everything from Destiny’s brooch bouquet to the wildflower bouts to the homemade jams and jellies provided as favors were made by the couple’s family and close friends.

Destiny & Dan’s magical day took place on the beautiful landscape that is Broken Arrow Ranch. Destiny’s grandparents own and operate the property and in recent years added a spring-fed “swimming hole” and gorgeous outdoor patio which is where the swimming reception took place! How fun is that!? Destiny’s mother was so precious to write up a bit of detail about the wedding day… I love the way she words her description.

On the top of a hill waited an old crooked tree that hangs in a perfect arch. Stained glass from Gramma and Grandpa hung perfectly in it, creating a church-like effect, with beautiful views of the surrounding hills in the background. Destiny was driven up by her Daddy, in an old jeep that has been part of the history of the ranch since the 1970’s (oh, the stories it could tell…). My husband tells me that the twenty minutes he got to spend in solitude with Destiny is his favorite part of the whole experience. And, trust me, he had FUN at the reception.  And my favorite part, was as she was being walked down the “aisle” by her Daddy and toward her new husband, she threw off her veil and ran to kiss and squeeze me like never before. I think I owe Dan a big apology.

The reception was complete with a number of talented family member’s performing songs for the newly wedded couple, wedding cake flavored shaved ice, Bar-B-Que, corn-hole and swimming, of course! Destiny & Dan, we’ve told you this a million times, but your wedding definitely goes in the books as one our favorites ever.:)Cheers!

All of the ladies in Destiny’s family showing off their bling! This tight-knit family is just precious!
