spring weddings are always so delightful. brittney & evan said their vows under the bluest sky overlooking the city of huntsville on one of the most ideal days of the year. these two beautiful people have hearts of gold – genuine, open, and selfless. after meeting them at their engagement session, we knew their wedding would be a day to look forward to and it did not disappoint. burritt on the mountain is a lovely venue that we hope to return to in the future! we feel so blessed to be a part of this sweet, sweet day. congratulations, guys!

arrtie & alex’s night was such a classy, southern event. although it was not, in fact, their wedding, it was a beautiful reception celebrating the civil vows they’d made a few months earlier. these two smarties are both doctors here in birmingham, so it was nice for them to get away and let loose with their family and closest friends. the celebration took place at a stunning antebellum home in the heart of historic columbus, mississippi – the beautiful private residence belongs to long time friends of the bride & groom.

everything was perfectly created and coordinated by the lovely m. elizabeth events, and don’t even get me started on the food by kathy g. and co, but more on that later… on another note, we loved the traditional Indian details and garb sported by arrtie her family that night. we were blessed to work with such a fun couple and such wonderful vendors – cheers to happy couple, arrtie & alex!

and now begins the moment where you feast your eyes on all of the delectable eats, if you need to go grab a snack, it’s understandable. i did.

their tent was lined with over 2000 lights – a fun alternative to incorporating string lights into your decor & a photographer’s dream!

We’re so excited to share this shoot with you today. It seems like it’s been months in the making, when in all actuality we put this together with an amazing team of professionals in two weeks! We’ve been waiting to share it for a number of reasons, but if I had it my way, I would have had it up on the blog within days after shooting – I’ve been so impatient!

This concept was born out of a desire to capture one last bit of winter before spring made her glorious appearance. We were inspired by the idea of a cozy, overcast day (which we were lucky enough to have on the day of our shoot), snuggly blankets and richly textured pillows, homemade desserts, warm drinks and an earthy color pallete with hints of winter’s deep evergreens. We wanted to encompass the style and personality of our ideal wedding. We found our amazing cabin (built in the 1800s) nestled in the rolling hills of Sweet Apple Farms just outside of Birmingham. Our models, Lindsey & Adam, are madly in love and engaged in real life – not to mention, a very handsome pair! The bride wore an Ivy & Aster gown (Borrowed from the lovely Ivory & White boutique) that exuded bohemian elegance. Kelly of Kelly Dellinger Events tied all of the elements together and truly brought our vision to life.

this morning i began combing through the images from brittney & evan’s wedding this past weekend and the series of images from which this photo was taken stopped me in my tracks. these two made our job so easy. really can’t wait to share this lovely day at burritt on the mountain with you guys! congratulations, brittney & evan – enjoy your week in puerto rico!

laura & dillon are the definition of fun. their wedding ceremony was sweet and simple, but most of all it was a celebration. laura is bubbly and outgoing, so it was so fun to see her excitement in every little detail of the day. we’d been looking forward to this wedding, as we love the city of chattanooga + laura and dillon have been so fun to get to know in the months before their wedding. their reception was a non-stop dance party (those are the best kind!), but before heading to the party, we snagged some portraits of these two on a rooftop in downtown chattanooga with the most beautiful light! enjoy!

the wedding album we made for ivy & joe was so stunning.

i removed it from the box to take a look and make sure every thing was as it should be and decided to shoot some pictures of it right away. first of all, grey is my favorite color, so i loved that they chose the grey “nabuk” leather for their album cover. it’s a soft, suede-like leather that is just beautiful in person. i didn’t spend a of ton of time styling these images (or cleaning my house before hand – yikes!)… just placed the album up on one of our new bar stools next to a window and took a couple of shots to showcase this pretty little thing! also, we recently decided to start debossing our logo on the back cover of each album – i love the way it ties all of our albums into our brand! while we design all of the page layouts in-house, we send off our albums to be carefully crafted by red tree albums – can’t say enough good things about this company. we’ve loved working with them for the past year and feel that their style goes hand-in-hand with ours.

there’s that pretty little logo!

nancy jane booked a bridal session with us, but opted to add an extra hour to her wedding day so we could shoot her bridals on the day of the wedding. i love the way these turned out! the beautiful arch way and light fixtures made the setting classic and formal – a good reflection of nancy jane and jacob’s wedding day. this adventurous pair is moving to australia today, just 4 weeks after tying the knot, (sounds like somebody else i know… us! ) so it’s only fitting that i share nancy jane’s bridals on this exciting day for her and her beau.

every time it snows, oh, once every 3 years or so here in alabama, wesley and i turn in to 5th graders – without fail. it’s not enough to look at the snow from our warm sofa with hot cocoa in hand… nope. we’ve got to get out and run around in it. the snow fall was such a nice surprise this year in the midst of this spring-like weather we’ve been experiencing.
