a french road trip: part three

undefined

alas, the end of the france posts is here. it was such an amazing experience to see the entire coast and countryside of southern france out the window of our car, making stops whenever our little hearts desired and eating more nutella than any human should ever consume. this particular set of images details our time in collioure, france- a total of 12 hours.

we sped past vineyard after vineyard, through the pyrenees foothills trying to make it to this town we’d heard so much about, by sunset, but we were watching it sink before our eyes. so, we did what anyone in their right mind would do, we pulled to the side of the road, ran barefoot to the sand and stood with our feet in the freezing water. we weren’t simply going to drive by our last sunset in france!

back in the car, we leisurely drove into collioure; a little medival town tucked between mountains and coast. honestly, i don’t think my words or these images could do it justice. collioure is a dream of a place. not to mention, upon rounding the corner of the mountains which lead into collioure, we found ourselves staring at supermoon! it was unreal. our favorite part of this entire town is a little chapel on the edge of the rocks which lead down into the water. after sleeping for a total of about 3 hours in our car, we sat frozen, against the side of that tiny building for over an hour watching the sun rise above the water. incredible. i couldn’t stop thanking God for his never-ending kindness. one of the sweetest, most unforgettable times in life thus far.
