this image alone makes me wish a. that we lived in the pacific northwest and b. that i could purposely schedule shoots for cloudy days. don’t get me wrong… i love the south and warm sunshine, but for me, photography-wise, there is nothing better than an overcast day, scarves & sweaters and a snuggly couple in front of my camera. more from this cozy session soon!

michelle + grant’s vibrant, anthro-styled wedding was a treat for us to photograph. while, the wedding was originally planned to take place outdoors, a tropical storm had different plans in mind. Thankfully, we had plenty of time to shoot everything without one drop of rain. the reception took place at the bride’s parents home which could have doubled for an antique shop, but with only the best finds- if you can even image. we both drooled over her dad’s collection of 90+ vintage cameras. it was fabulously tied together with fireworks and a packed dance floor. michelle + grant know how to throw a party!

perfectly captured friends!! looks like such a fun wedding;)
last year was crazy awesome! we frolicked around europe for half of the year and came back to america with a warm welcome from family and friends and lots of clients to tend to! we were blessed beyond measure and on top of everything we celebrated one year of wedded bliss. here’s to 2012 and all of the adventures and surprises it will bring! the great thing about booking weddings months in advance is that we already know exactly what’s in store for this spring and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

if you know me, you know i have an obsession and we’ve recently been reunited! meet kiki the cat. she is the most recent in a long line of previous cats owned by yours truly. i’ve had her for almost 8 years and although she’s a texan, this is her second time to live in alabama with moi.
she’s our furry, little housemate who i absolutely can’t resist snapping pics of with my phone all day long, but i thought i’d give her a proper introduction with some real images. goodness, she’s cute!
and for all of you non-cat owner’s, i promise this won’t be a recurring thing (atleast i’ll try!) – just find me on instagram if you want to see more.

we rang in the new year at oak mountain state park this year. it was laid-back and, well, perfect.
out of the 6 people in our group, 5 of us lived out of the country long term in 2011. two in east asia, one in south africa and, of course, us in spain. it was so fun to sit around the fire and hear stories about our experiences living on opposite ends of the world, reflecting on things God taught us while living away from everything we know and love.
